We completed concrete repairs to the structural beams at the D-Day Museum in Portsmouth.

 

This work was carried out in collaboration with Pilbeam Construction Ltd of Brighton, whom we have worked with for over 20 years. We were asked during the last week of their 9-week contract if we could attend and carry out urgent concrete repairs to an area of the museum that had only just been identified as problematic.

 

In order for Pilbeam to hand over the building within their contracted programme, and because Archers have such a good working relationship with them over such a long period of time, were only too pleased to re-organise some of our existing work-load in order to help achieve this goal.

 

The D-Day Museum were very happy with the outcome and were able to re-open and continue as planned after it’s £5million revamp.

 

The museum tells the story of Operation Overlord during the Normandy D-Day landings in 1944. After these works were complete and the museum re-opened, exhibits that had never before been on public display were made available as part of the refurbishment.
