We have just completed some diamond drilling investigation to the soffit of numerous balconies for the InterContinental Hotel Groups’ branch of the Holiday Inn Hotel in Brighton. This was necessary following the collapse of some render / concrete detail.
Our brief was to drill through the balcony soffit in various agreed locations to identify the construction details and in order to identify the reason behind the very dangerous collapse.
Following the investigation, our report has been submitted and we are now awaiting further instructions. We thoroughly enjoy our work on this inspiring seafront building.
The Challenge
The challenge was to get all of our heavy duty diamond cutting equipment up through the inside of the hotel while doing our best not to disturb the hotel guests and employees.
The Strategy
The strategy we employed was to carry out an early start with mobilising equipment whilst residents and to commence out diamond drilling investigation after 10am to minimise disturbance.
